Description
Tailor’s ham
This is an amazing quality and shape and along with the preferred quality canvases, linings and other tools, I can only source outwith the UK.
I use the ham to drape the kilt over when shaping the kilt, attaching the canvasses and lining at the shaped hip region and the seat area. i never stitch my kilts without it and my students recognise its value during the kilt construction. The kilt is not a flat garment.
Sizes: 38cm x 22cm and 50cm x 28cm
I bought the larger one recently by mistake for stock and prefer it but the smaller size still did the job.
Some traditional kilt makers use their knee to drape the kilt over. A matter of preference and I love using the ham.
