This service is ideal for those who would like to design their unique tartan, to design a kilt incorporating artwork or who find it difficult to purchase cloth in their own tartan.

As a kilt maker and artist I can listen to your ideas and with you, inspire you, using my knowledge of the tartan and the kilt’s construction create a tartan or kilt design.

Some tartans are not readily available and have to be woven especially. Some tartans carry restrictions and special permission is required to allow the use of the tartan. Or you may wish to design your own unique tartan and have it woven and registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans.

The range of tartans are all woven in the UK and are supplied in 100% Pure new wool and 100% pure spun twill weave silk.

PLEASE NOTE: Custom weave items will be 6-8 weeks.

Most of our wool tartans are woven in double width which are 140 centimetres wide, although some tartans are woven in single width which are 70 or 80 centimetres wide.

Custom weave silk is 75 centimetres wide, and the natural edge sash 30 centimetres wide.
